Herd Highlight – Social Media Associate Riley McDaniel

Herd Highlight is a blog series highlighting the outstanding members of our Herd. From PR pros to digital marketing masterminds, each Buffalo has a unique story. Learn more about our team each month.

A new resident of Music City (Nashville), Social Media Associate Riley McDaniel graduated from Auburn University in 2020 with a degree in Rehabilitation, but always felt compelled to do something that sparks creativity, which is how she became interested in joining The Herd. She is a Harry Styles-obsessed cat lady with a passion for all things music and food.

As a new member of the team, what excites you about joining the Herd?

I’m excited to work with a team that’s passionate about what they do, and I’m looking forward to seeing how we can help our clients grow. In my short time here, I’ve had the opportunity to work on our client Sleep.com and it’s been really cool to collaborate with them on the launch of their first campaign.

What did you do before joining Buffalo?

Before Buffalo I interned with an agency for upcoming artists and musicians. If there’s any Sam Fischer fans out there, I had the opportunity to help on his campaign! It was an awesome experience and I’m forever #TeamFischer.

What is the coolest thing you’ve worked on so far?

Being able to create playlists on Spotify for Sleep.com! I was able to create a bunch of playlists for different moods like working out, relaxing, and winding down that were featured on Sleep.com’s social channels. It was amazing to see them come to life!

What are a few of your favorite things to do outside of the office?

Listening to music, going to concerts, trying new coffee shops, watching reality TV, cooking and running / hiking are a few! I recently discovered Nashville farmer’s market right near my apartment and I love walking there every weekend.

What’s your favorite social media trend right now?

Emily Mariko’s viral salmon bowl! Since watching it I have been hooked on recipe tok. The viral Mediterranean salad has also become a staple in my house.

Tell us a fun act about you!

I’m from Chicago, but just moved to downtown Nashville. Frothy Monkey – Taylor Swift’s favorite coffee shop – is five minutes from my apartment! It’s worth the hype.
